I received my artistic education from the department of Illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute. It was there that I learned to work in a variety of mediums and to approach that many more subjects. This provided me with a full range of creative means to express myself and my opinions on the world around me. I continue to exercise my cretivity in the full spectrum of mediums I learned to use as well as settle into focused bodies of work as my passions drive me.
My daily work is that of a freelance illustrator and ghost writer and I am available for hire. Between these jobs I pursue my own interest as a painter/illustrator and examples of my personal work can be seen in the gallery below.
*All of my work is available for sale as prints and original pieces upon availability.

The most recent body of work that I have undertaken is an exploration of emotion and story telling through oil paint and gold gouache. The series revolves around seafaring themes with background colors of oil representing emotional states of mind and the subject matter in gold gouache giving a literal interpretation to those feelings as they vary from isolation to turmoil and discovery.
While focusing heavily on a themed body of work there is also a need to break away from that work and explore it in various forms. I have worked on small watercolor explorations as well as taken breaks from the theme of my work entirely to pursue intricate pen and ink drawings that allow for me to take a short break and refocus my mind on my work.
An early series of work from 2014-15 of pastel backgrounds and a focus of light/shadow and positive/negative space in the stark black and white ink drawings.
